Think of a 2D Aero Overhead Hanging Sign as a two-sided sign. It can be a circle, a rectangle, an ellipse, or just about any shape. A 3D hanging sign on the other hand has multiple surfaces with the most notable shapes being a pinwheel, a circle, or a square.
